Big news on the “Star Wars VII” front last week as Latino Review revealed two characters, from previous “Star Wars” films, that are rumored to return in the new trilogy. Apparently, both Ewan McGregor and Ian McDiarmid will be reprising their roles as young Obi-Wan Kenobi and the infamous Emperor Palpatine respectively. However, since both of said characters are now deceased, they’ll be re-appearing as Force ghosts.
Obviously, these are just rumors that could be based entirely on speculation. Odds are we won’t be hearing any official news about “Star Wars VII” until a little closer to its 2015 release date. With all of these wild rumors buzzing around the Internet, we can’t help but wonder what other characters from the Star Wars Expanded Universe might pop up in the new trilogy. Take Grand Admiral Thrawn for example, the greatest Imperial officer that ever existed.
Born on the planet Csilla, Mitth’raw’nuruodo (Thrawn for short) quickly climbs up the ranks of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Forces utilizing military tactics frowned upon by the rest of his species, namely offensive and preemptive attacks. After being exiled to an uninhabited planet, Thrawn is soon discovered by Imperial Navy officer Voss Parck and brought back to Emperor Palpatine.
